Η κ. Φλώρα Μπακοπούλου είναι πτυχιούχος της Ιατρικής και Φαρμακευτικής Σχολής και διδάκτωρ της Βιοφαρμακευτικής-Φαρμακοκινητικής του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ). Ειδικεύθηκε στην Παιδιατρική στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και μετεκπαιδεύτηκε στην Εφηβική Ιατρική στα γνωστικά πεδία της γενικής Εφηβικής Ιατρικής, Παιδικής και Εφηβικής Γυναικολογίας, Παιδιατρικής και Εφηβικής Ενδοκρινολογίας, Ψυχιατρικής Παιδιών και Εφήβων και Ψυχολογίας. Έχει ολοκληρώσει Διεθνές Ακαδημαϊκό Πρόγραμμα στην Εφηβική Ιατρική στο Michigan State University, Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies στο Michigan των ΗΠΑ και κατέχει Διεθνή Πιστοποίηση (International Fellowship of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, IFEPAG) στo γνωστικό αντικείμενο Παιδικής και Εφηβικής Γυναικολογίας (υπό την αιγίδα της Federation Internationale de Gynecologie Infantile et Juvenile, FIGIJ). Έχει διατελέσει Επισκέπτρια Κλινική Καθηγήτρια στο πρόγραμμα Αναπτυξιακής Ενδοκρινολογίας και Γενετικής, στο Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), National Institutes of Health (NIH) στη Bethesda των ΗΠΑ καθώς και στο πρόγραμμα Παιδικής και Εφηβικής Γυναικολογίας στο νοσοκομείο Children’s National Medical Center στην Washington DC των ΗΠΑ.

Κατέχει θέση Αναπληρώτριας Καθηγήτριας Παιδιατρικής-Εφηβικής Ιατρικής στην Ιατρική Σχολή του ΕΚΠΑ. Είναι Επιστημονική Υπεύθυνη του τριτοβάθμιου Ειδικού Κέντρου Εφηβικής Ιατρικής της Α΄ Παιδιατρικής Κλινικής της Ιατρικής Σχολής του ΕΚΠΑ, στο νοσοκομείο Παίδων «Η Αγία Σοφία». Το Ειδικό Κέντρο Εφηβικής Ιατρικής φιλοξενεί από το 2010 την Έδρα UNESCO Εφηβικής Υγείας και Ιατρικής.

Eίναι συνεργαζόμενη ερευνήτρια στο Ερευνητικό Πανεπιστημιακό Ινστιτούτο Μελέτης και Αντιμετώπισης Γενετικών και Κακοήθων Νοσημάτων Παιδικής Ηλικίας, του ΕΚΠΑ.

Είναι Πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής Αξιολόγησης και Αποζημίωσης Φαρμάκων Ανθρώπινης Χρήσης, με έδρα στον Εθνικό Οργανισμό Φαρμάκων (ΕΟΦ) που υπάγεται στο Υπουργείο Υγείας.

Η κ. Μπακοπούλου έχει συμμετάσχει με 89 διαλέξεις ως προσκεκλημένη ομιλήτρια και με 83 Ελληνικές και 67 διεθνείς ανακοινώσεις σε Ελληνικές και διεθνείς επιστημονικές συναντήσεις, στις οποίες έχουν απονεμηθεί 6 βραβεία. Έχει συμμετάσχει στην επιμέλεια 3 βιβλίων, στη συγγραφή 9 Ελληνικών δημοσιεύσεων, 8 Ελληνικών και 4 ξενόγλωσσων κεφαλαίων, 1 μονογραφίας και 70 ξενόγλωσσων πρωτότυπων πλήρων επιστημονικών δημοσιευμένων εργασιών.

Η κ. Μπακοπούλου διαθέτει πλούσιο διδακτικό έργο σε  προπτυχιακούς και μεταπτυχιακούς φοιτητές. Εποπτεύει διπλωματικές ερευνητικές εργασίες και διδακτορικές διατριβές και έχει συμμετάσχει σε 7 χρηματοδοτούμενα ερευνητικά προγράμματα. Το 2013 ήταν Επιστημονική Υπεύθυνη σε ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα ΕΣΠΑ συγχρηματοδοτούμενο από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (MIS 371406), το οποίο συμπεριλήφθηκε στον κατάλογο Καλών Πρακτικών Έργων ΕΣΠΑ 2007-2013. Συμμετέχει στο Ευρωπαϊκό ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα PRINCE - Preparedness Response for CBRNE INCidEnts (κωδικός 815362) στα πλαίσια του Horizon 2020.

Είναι Ακαδημαϊκή υπεύθυνη του εξ αποστάσεως εκπαιδευτικού προγράμματος του Κέντρου Συνεχιζόμενης Εκπαίδευσης και Δια Βίου Μάθησης, του ΕΚΠΑ με αντικείμενο «Εφηβική Ιατρική: Ψυχοσωματική και Γνωστική Ανάπτυξη, Αναπαραγωγική Υγεία, Διατροφή, Άθληση και Στρες των Εφήβων». Είναι μέλος της επιτροπής της εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης (On-line Learning Committee) της Ευρωπαϊκής Εταιρείας Παιδιατρικής Ενδοκρινολογίας (European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology,ESPE).

Έχει συνδιοργανώσει 9 επιστημονικές συναντήσεις εκ των οποίων 5 Πανελλήνια Συνέδρια για την Εφηβική Υγεία και Ιατρική. Έχει διατελέσει μέλος της Ομάδας Εργασίας για την Ιατρική Εδικότητα της Παιδιατρικής του Κεντρικού Συμβουλίου Υγείας (Κε.Σ.Υ.) του Υπουργείου Υγείας καθώς και μέλος του Τομέα Ιατρικής Εκπαίδευσης του Ινστιτούτου Επιστημονικών Ερευνών του Πανελληνίου Ιατρικού Συλλόγου.

FLORA BACOPOULOU, MD, PhD

Flora Bacopoulou is Associate Professor of Pediatrics-Adolescent Medicineat the Center for Adolescent Medicine and UNESCO Chair on Adolescent Health Care of the First Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, at the Aghia Sophia Children’s Hospital in Athens, Greece. She has both a Pharmacy and Medical Degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a PhD degree in Clinical Pharmacokinetics awarded by the Laboratory of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, School of Pharmacy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She specialized in Pediatrics in the United Kingdom and further subspecialized in Adolescent Medicine in the scientific fields of General Adolescent Medicine, Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology, Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Pediatric and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology. She has completed an International Visiting Scholar Program in Adolescent Medicineat the Michigan State University in USA as well as the International Fellowship of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (IFEPAG), under the auspices of the International Federation of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (Federation Internationale de Gynecologie Infantile et Juvenile FIGIJ). She has also served as Visiting Clinical Professor in Developmental Endocrinology and Genetics at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, NIH, Bethesda, USA and in the “Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Program” at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC in USA.

Dr. Bacopoulou is head of the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) committee of the Greek Ministry of Health.

She is also head of the multidisciplinary tertiary Center for Adolescent Medicine of the First Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicineat the Aghia Sophia Children's Hospital. The Center for Adolescent Medicine is the first and only Statutory Center in Greece recognized officially by the Hellenic Ministry of Health and Welfare for training and specialization of medical, nursing and other health care personnel, as well as for the promotion of research, in the field of Adolescent Medicine and Health Care. Since 2010, the Center for Adolescent Medicine hosts the UNESCO Chair in Adolescent Health Care.

Dr. Bacopoulou is a collaborating researcher at the University Research Institute of Maternal and Child Health & Precision Medicine (formerly called University Research Institute for the Study of Genetic and Malignant Disorders in Childhood), of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Dr. Bacopoulou supervises research projects and PhD research dissertations and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate university students, and pediatricians. She has participated in 7 funded research programs and is currently participating in the European research program PRINCE - Preparedness Response for CBRNE INCidEnts (code 815362, Horizon 2020).

Dr. Flora Bacopoulou has published 70original peer-reviewed papers, co-authored 12 chapters and has participated in the editing of 3 books and with 150 oral/poster presentations and 89 invited lectures in Hellenic and International conferences and meetings. Dr. Bacopoulou runs an active e-learning program in Adolescent Medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is member of the online learning committee of the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE). She has organized/co-organized 9 scientific meetings.
