Greydanos Donald Επίτιμος Συνεργάτης

Donald E. Greydanus MD, Dr HC (ATHENS), FAAP, FSAM (emeritus), FIAP (HON) is Professor & Founding Chair and Program Director, Department of Pediatrics, Western Michigan University School of Medicine (Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA). He is also Professor of Pediatrics and Human Development at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine (East Lansing, Michigan, USA).  He received the M.D. degree from the College of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (Newark) and completed a Pediatric Residency Program at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA) and a Fellowship in Adolescent Medicine from New York University School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital Center (New York City). Dr. Greydanus has published extensively on adolescent health and lectured in many countries on adolescent health as well. He has published:

1) Co-edited 35 books (including Behavioral Pediatrics now in its 4th edition and Adolescent Medicine in its 5th edition)

2) 200+ Book chapters

3) Co-edited 37 Journal issues

4) Published Over 350 articles

5) Over 100 International Lectureships

6) Over 200 national lectureships

Professor Greydanus has received numerous honors and awards from various organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Society for Adolescent Medicine, and others. In May, 2008 he received the MSU College of Human Medicine Outstanding Community Faculty award. In 2010 he received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Athens (Greece) as a “distinguished scientist who through outstanding work has bestowed praise and credit on the field of Adolescent Medicine (Ephebiatrics).” In 2010 he received the Outstanding Achievement in Adolescent Medicine Award from the Society for Adolescent Medicine “as a leading force in the field of adolescent medicine and health.” In 2011 he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Society (Honor Medical Society) at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Gamma Chapter. In 2012 he was appointed as Founding Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the Western Michigan University School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA. In 2014 he was recommended by the American Medical Association to join the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Residency Review Committee in Pediatrics (ACGME-RRC) starting in 2015.
